“Hang the curtain from the clasps and place the ark of the Testimony behind the curtain. The curtain will separate the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place.”
~ Exodus 26:33

Hi James and Ellen,

Ask your dad and/or ma where God lives. What did your dad and/or ma say? Ask your dad and/or ma if you can see God. What did your dad and/or ma say? Your grandpaa believes that a divine God has always existed. Your grandpaa believes that God is the Heavenly Father, the Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Your grandpaa believes that God – as the Heavenly Father, is unfolding a preordained storyline from His throne that is in heaven. Your grandpaa believes that God the Son’s crucifixion was an atonement sacrifice that defeated sin and conquered death. Your grandpaa believes that when God the Son – after He was resurrected by His Heavenly Father, joined His Father God in heaven. Your grandpaa believes that God the Father – when He resurrected His Son, sent God the Holy Spirit to planet Earth to live in the hearts of the guys, gals and kids who make decisions of faith through believing in what happened when God the Son – who was Jesus, was crucified on a cross. Not all that many guys, gals and kids have and will believe in the one true God. The one true God is to be recognized as being God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Your grandpaa does not know how long guys and gals have been living on planet Earth. Over 2000 years before God the Son spent a little over thirty years living on planet Earth, God the Father promised a guy by the name of Abraham that He would make Abraham’s extended family to be forever His specially chosen guys, gals and kids and that His specially chosen guys, gals and kids would always live in the same land area where Abraham was living – which became known as the Promised Land and which is now known as Israel. God kept the promise that He made to Abraham. About 500 years after God the Father promised Abraham that it would be his extended family who He would call His specially chosen guys, gals and kids, God had Moses lead the Israelite people group – God’s specially chosen guys, gals and kids, out of Egypt to the Promised Land. On their way to the Promised Land, the Israelite people group guys, gals and kids where stopped by God at Mt. Sinai. God had Moses climb to the top of Mt. Sinai so that He could meet with him. Do you know in what the Israelite people group guys and gals worshipped before they left Egypt? The Israelite people group guys and gals believed in the lifeless gods that the Egyptian guys and gals idolized. The inanimate gods that the Egyptians guys and gals worshipped were made from gold, stones and wood. The Egyptian guys and gals did not know that God the Father was the originator of everything. God’s purpose for having the over 600,000 guys plus gals and kids – who composed Abraham’s extended family, stop at Mt. Sinai was to give His specially chosen guys and gals a new belief paradigm.

Abraham, Isaac – Abraham’s kid and Jacob – Isaac’s kid, all had personal relationships with God the Father. Abraham’s extended family after living for 300 or so years in Egypt probably no longer knew their patriarchs’ God. Things changed when Moses unexpectedly encountered God in a burning bush. God used Moses and ten plagues to move over two million guys, gals and kids from a comfortable life – albeit as being slaves, with their possessions and livestock out of Egypt. When Moses met God again – this time on Mt. Sinai, God told Moses that He was going to live with His specially chosen guys, gals and kids – the Israelite people group, on their trek to the Promised Land. God’s presence was already with His specially chosen guys, gals and kids. God presence was in a cloud pillar during the day and a fire pillar at night. God asked Moses to build a place where He – as God the Father, could personally be present with His specially chosen guys, gals and kids as they traveled. Over 1400 years after God the Father met with Moses on the top of Mt. Sinai, God sent His Son to planet Earth – where Jesus suffered and died on a cross for the sins of all the guys, gals and kids who God the Father – before He formed planet Earth, had specially chosen for His Son Jesus. During the forty years when God’s specially chosen guys and gals wandered around the wilderness and during the years when God’s specially chosen guys and gals lived in the Promised Land, God the Father lived with them. God the Father lived in a special place called the Holy of Holies. The Holy of Holies was located inside another special enclosure called a tabernacle. The specifications that God the Father gave Moses – when they were together on Mt Sinai, on how He wanted the tabernacle built Moses recorded in what is now Exodus 26.

The place in which God would live in with his specially chosen guys and gals beginning about 3400 years ago and for maybe the next 800 years would be nothing like anything that had ever been built. When things were built about 3400 years ago, a measurement called cubits was used. One cubit is equal to eighteen inches. God told Moses to have ten forty-two feet long and six feet wide curtains made from finely twisted linen and blue, purple and scarlet yarn. God also told Moses to have eleven forty-five feet long and six feet wide curtains made from goat hair. These curtains were be used to cover the tabernacle. God told Moses to use acacia wood for the frame of the tabernacle and for the crossbeams. There were reasons why God wanted Moses to use fine linen, blue, purple and scarlet yarn and acacia wood. Your grandpaa will explain to you someday why God wanted Moses to use certain things when the tabernacle was built. Inside the tabernacle was the Holy Place. The Holy of Holies or the Most High Place was to be placed in the back part of the Holy Place. God told Moses in verse 33 to “Hang the curtain from the clasps and place the ark of the Testimony behind the curtain. The curtain will separate the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place.” If you have a personal faith relationship with God, there is absolutely nothing that will separate you from God today.
