“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth, I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.”
~ Matthew 10:34
Hi James and Ellen,
Do you wish that every guy, gal and kid who is living on planet Earth lives in peace? Every guy, gal and kids who is living on planet Earth can have peace. This peace is the peace that a guy, gal or kid will have when he or she makes a decision of faith to accept what God – as God the Son, did for him or her while nailed to cross when He allowed Himself – as God the Son, to suffer to defeat death and to have His blood pour out from His body to cover and redeem every sin that you have ever done and will do in your lifetimes. Matthew wrote about this peace when he quoted in Matthew 10 what Jesus – God the Son, said. Verse 34 says, “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth, I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.” What does a sword mean to you? A sword suggests to your grandpaa that there will always be guys and gals fighting and killing each other because of their inability to come to an agreement to live in peace. When God allowed Himself – as God the Son – Jesus, to be nailed to a cross to give up His life for the sins of His specially elected guys, gals and kids and to defeat the fear of death, God – as God the Son – Jesus, implemented, initiated or began a new belief paradigm that was given the name of Christianity. There are guys, gals and kids all over planet Earth who have passed through the faith/grace door into a peace filled relationship with God. The guys, gals and kids who passed through this faith/grace door when they made a decision of faith became followers of Christ – Who is God the Son, as Christians. Your grandmaa and grandpaa are praying that you will one day real soon – if you have not already done so, pass through this faith/grace door – just as your dad, ma, Aunt Connie, Uncle Don, grandmaa and grandpaa have, and become faithful followers of Christ – Who is God the Son, as Christians.
Christians, followers or servants of Christ – Who is God the Son, are guys, gals and kids who have been led by God – as God the Spirit, to reject a lifestyle that led them do evil and who have accepted a new lifestyle that is in Jesus Christ – Who is God the Son, that is leading them to do good. This change that will be seen in the lives of guys and gals who have accepted a new lifestyle that is in Jesus Christ does not set well with other guys and gals. These are guys and gals who do not have the same peace that the guys, gals and kids have who made a decision of faith by accepting Christianity’s tenants. The result of Jesus – as God the Son, coming to planet Earth as an incarnate guy to be nailed to a cross has created an ongoing conflict between guys and gals who absolutely believe in what He did for them and between guys and gals who completely reject what He did on a cross for His specially elected guys, gals and kids. Ever since Jesus died while nailed to a cross, there has been an ongoing conflict taking place in the spirit world – especially between the spirits and angels who align themselves with God – as God the Father, and the spirits and angels who align themselves with the antichrist – who is Satan. Ever since Jesus died while nailed to a cross, a clear delineation can be made between what is good and what is evil or what is light and what is darkness.
Jesus picked twelve guys – who He called disciples, to begin spreading a new message of hope and peace to His specially chosen guys and gals – who were now being called Jews. Jesus one time even split the twelve guys up who He picked as His twelve disciples to do ministry practicums in different towns where guys and gals who were Jews were living. Jesus had His twelve disciples – Pete, Andy, Zeb’s kid – Jim, Jim’s bro John, Phil, Bart, Tom, Matt – who was a former tax collector, Al’s kid – Jim, Tad, Simon – who was a former cult member and Jude – who would be the guy who would ultimately opt to turn his back on the guy – Jesus, who had called him to follow Him, go with just the clothes that they were wearing to towns where guys and gals who were Jews were living. Jesus told his disciples that He did not want them to take an extra shirt or sandals with them and not to take money from any guy or gal who was living in the towns that they would visit. Jesus empowered the twelve guys who He picked to be the guys to jumpstart the new belief paradigm that was centered in Him to have authority over demons or evil spirits who had taken up living in God’s specially chosen guys and gals as well as the ability to heal God’s specially chosen guys and gals of diseases and illnesses that they had. Jesus also told the twelve guys who He picked to be His disciples that as they went into a town where guys and gals who were Jews were living that they were to look for a guy who would let them spend the night in his place and was willing to hear what they had to say. If the guy refused to let them spend the night in his place, Jesus told the twelve guys to just shake the dust off their feet and then to ask another guy if they could stay in his place. When your grandpaa was a student at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, your grandpaa was assigned each semester a practical ministry that he was to go to each week where he was to be proactively involved. One of the practical ministry assignments that your grandpaa was assigned to go to and be proactively involved was in the church that a well-known author – A. W. Tozer, had been the pastor for thirty years. Because Southside Alliance Church was not far from where your grandpaa’s Uncle Bert and Aunt Gert lived, your grandmaa, grandpaa, dad and Aunt Connie would go each week to their house. Before your grandpaa went to the Southside Alliance Church to complete his practicum, your grandmaa, grandpaa, dad and Aunt Connie would have supper with your grandpaa’s Uncle Bert and Aunt Gert. To understand what true peace is, a guy, gal or kid needs to internalize by faith that God – as God the Spirit, has led him or her to become a servant of God the Son – Jesus.
