“The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.”
~ Proverbs 15:3
Hi James and Ellen,
What does the Bible teach you about your tongue? What does the Bible teach you about becoming angry? What does the Bible teach you about being a fool? What does the Bible teach you about praying? What does the Bible teach you about wanting to have a lot of money and things? What does the Bible teach you about being happy? Proverbs 15 teaches you about these things. This chapter teaches you that your tongue must be used to encourage your kid friends to want to learn as much as they can about God. This chapter teaches you that if you become angry with a kid friend that you will make your kid friend to become angry, too. This chapter teaches you that you are acting like a fool when you do not listen to your dad and/or ma. This chapter teaches you to pray to God so that God will be happy with you. This chapter teaches you that if you do things to try to make yourself feel happy that you will never feel happy. This chapter teaches you that being rich is from knowing God and not from having a large income flow and a lot of things. This chapter teaches you that if you give a kid friend a happy look, that you will make that kid friend feel happy. How are you using your tongue? Do you say things to your kid friends which make them feel better? What do you do when you feel angry? Do you say things to your dad and/or ma or to a kid friend in an angry way so that your dad and/or ma or kid friend will feel angry, too? How are you behaving? Do you listen to what your dad and/or ma or your teacher or . . . asks you to do so that you are not acting like a fool? Do you know why you need to pray? Are you praying to God so that He is happy with you so that He will have you feel happy? How rich are you? Do you feel rich just knowing that you are very special to God or do you think that you need more toys or more money to get more things? Your grandmaa and grandpaa are really happy that God has blessed them with two very special happy fun grandkids.
This chapter also teaches you where God is. Verse 3 teaches you “The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.” Do you really believe that God is watching you at this very moment? Your grandpaa believes that God is watching your grandmaa and grandpaa at this very moment. Your grandpaa has no doubts that God is watching you at this very moment. Your grandpaa has no doubts that God knows what your grandmaa and grandpaa are doing at this very moment. Your grandpaa has no doubts that God knows what every guy, gal and kid who is alive on planet Earth is doing at this very moment – even guys, gals and kids who do not and never will have a personal knowledge or understanding of God’s omniscience. Your grandpaa has no doubts that God knows just how every guy, gal or kid who is alive on planet Earth is feeling and thinking at this very moment as your grandpaa believes that God is in unequivocal control of how every guy, gal and kid will feel and think from moment to moment. Your grandpaa knows that as you believe and trust in God, that God will impress on your heart and mind to be happy. Your grandmaa and grandpaa recently visited with your dad’s Uncle Drake and Aunt Dotty. Your dad’s Aunt Dotty told your grandmaa and grandpaa about a sis of hers who seems to be always angry and sick. Your dad’s Aunt Dotty’s sis had gotten a divorce from her husband years ago. Your dad’s Aunt Dotty told your grandmaa and grandpaa that her sis’ bones had gotten very brittle and that they were breaking. This chapter has a verse about how a cheerful look makes a guy, gal or kid feel happy. God’s charge for a guy, gal and kid who has made a decision of faith is to make guys, gals and kids happy. This verse tells you how good news will make the bones of a guy, gal or kid strong. Your dad’s Aunt Dotty’s sis does not have joy in her life. Your dad’s Aunt Dotty’s sis does not think that there is any good news. Your dad’s Aunt Dotty told your grandmaa and grandpaa that she really thinks that this verse fits her sis who does not have or feel joy and who thinks life is not treating her fairly.
Your grandpaa has had many happy surprises in his life. These happy surprises that your grandpaa has had in his life have been to him a God thing which has really encouraged him. One of these times happened when your grandpaa was in high school. Your grandpaa was sitting in study hall. The study hall monitor was your grandpaa’s English teacher – who your grandpaa liked. Your grandpaa was sitting in his seat studying when the drama teacher walked into the study hall. Your grandpaa watched the drama teacher go right to Mrs. Swartz to talk to her. Your grandpaa then saw Mrs. Swartz look at your grandpaa as she was talking with the drama teacher. The next thing that your grandpaa saw was the drama teacher walking towards your grandpaa’s desk. The drama teacher stopped at your grandpaa’s desk and asked your grandpaa if he would act in a one act play. The guy who the drama teacher had selected for a part in the one act play had decided that he did not want to be in the play. The drama teacher needed another guy to take that part so she asked your grandpaa’s English teacher who she would suggest. Mrs. Swartz suggested your grandpaa. As your grandpaa was really shy when he was in high school, your grandpaa would never have tried to get a part in a play let alone the part that he played. Your grandpaa was supposed to be dead in the play. Your grandpaa and his wife – who was also supposed to be dead, could see what every other actor was doing but no actor was supposed to be able to see your grandpaa and his wife. Your grandpaa and his wife made funny remarks about the other actors in the play. Your grandpaa and his wife won awards for being the best supporting actors in a competition between area high schools. Your grandpaa will never ever forget how really happy that he felt that day.
