“Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”
~ Zechariah 9:9

Hi James and Ellen –

Alexander the Great was the son of Philip – King of Macedon. Alexander the Great was known as the man’s defender. Alexander the Great lived on planet Earth for only 33 years – from 356 B.C. to 323 B.C. Daniel referred to a shaggy goat in a prophecy that God – as God the Spirit, had him about 300 years earlier scribe in his Daniel Book. Alexander the Great was the guy who was referred to as being a shaggy goat in the book that goes by Daniel’s name. During his relatively short life on planet Earth, Alexander the Great would conquer from Greece eastward to India the land area that had been civilized on planet Earth. Alexander the Great changed the culture in the land area that had been civilized on planet Earth. Alexander the Great by influencing the change from one language – which was Aramaic, to another language – which was Greek, hellenized the land area that had been civilized on planet Earth. Alexander the Great launched from Greece his military campaign to conquer the land area that had been civilized on planet Earth. The cities of Corinth and Athens were located in Greece. The first leg that Alexander the Great’s made to conquer the land area that had been civilized on planet Earth covered about 800 miles. Alexander the Great and his army made it in 333 B.C. to the city of Hadrach – or Hatarikka. During the time that he based his army out of Hadrach, Alexander the Great and his army overran the country of Lebanon and the city of Damascus. The country of Lebanon and the city of Damascus were the Aramean people group’s country and their leading city. The next cities that Alexander the Great and his army destroyed were the cities of Tyre and Sidon. Alexander the Great and his army totally destroyed in 332 B.C. the city of Tyre. Some of the city of Tyre’s houses were built as an island stronghold fortress on a rocky outcropping off the Mediterranean Sea’s shore. By the time that Alexander the Great and his army left Greece to conquer all the land area that had been civilized on planet Earth, the city of Tyre had become planet Earth’s trade and commerce center. The city of Tyre was by now a very wealthy city. The guys and gals who lived in the city of Tyre thought that the island fortress that they had built on a rocky outcropping in the Mediterranean Sea was impregnable and impervious to being captured and destroyed. When Alexander the Great and his army reached the city of Tyre, Alexander the Great had his army use the stones from the city of Tyre’s houses that had been built on the Mediterranean Sea’s shore to make a causeway to the part of the city of Tyre that had been built on the Mediterranean Sea’s rocky outcropping in order to demolish that part of the city of Tyre, too.

Alexander the Great and his army continued their military campaign going south along the east shore of the Mediterranean Sea towards the cities of Philistia and Ekron. Alexander the Great and his army were now in the land area where God’s specially chosen guys and gals were living. The land area where God’s specially chosen guys and gals were living had once been known as Canaan – then Israel, but after this land area came under the control of the guys and gals who were living in the Philistine area – known as the Gaza Strip today, this land area became known as Palestine. There is constant friction even today between the Palestinians who are wanting what they think is their land back and the Israelite people group’s guys and gals – God’s specially chosen guys and gals, who are claiming back the land that they know that God gave to them to always to have to live in as their very own land if . . . when Alexander the Great arrived at the city of Jerusalem, he did not have his army destroy again the temple of God that was located in the city of Jerusalem and he did not have his army raze again the city of Jerusalem. Over 150 years earlier, a prophet spokesman for God scribed in a missive that God – as God the Spirit, had him scribe that cities such as Hadrach, Damascus, Hamath, Tyre, Sidon, Gaza and Ekron would all be overrun, ruined and destroyed and the possessions that the guys and gals had who would be living in these cities would be taken. There was no way at all that Zechariah – God’s prophet spokesman, could have known that a guy – who would be Alexander the Great, would one day do what he had scribed in his Zechariah Book that a guy would do in the future through inflicting a monumental judgment and punishment on the guys and gals who were living in countries and cities who persisted in doing whatever they could do to completely rid planet Earth of God’s specially chosen guys and gals.

God – as God the Spirit, had Zechariah scribe in what is now Zechariah 9 in his Zechariah Book about an unknown leader’s military campaign that would destroy cities that would be in his path. Just as Zechariah scribed in his Zechariah Book that it was going to take place, it took place. Zechariah also wrote about something else in his Zechariah Book that was going to take place and which took place. Verse 9 says, “Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.” An incarnate guy over 500 years later rode into the city of Jerusalem on the back of a donkey’s colt as guys and gals shouted, cheered and waved palm fronds. This incarnate guy was Jesus – God the Son. Zechariah had really no way at all of knowing that what he scribed in his Zechariah Book – as God – as God the Spirit, was having him scribe, that what he was scribing would take place one day. All throughout the Old Testament times, God – as God the Spirit, had different guys scribe different prophecies at different times that explicitly said that a Savior would come to planet Earth to give hope to guys, gals and kids who would be living without hope on planet Earth. God – as God the Father, has given you the faith to believe what His Word says will happen because He – as God the Spirit, had guys like Zechariah scribe in their books prophecies that have happened.
