How good can they have it! Time has stopped for them. The moment has arrived. He is about to be their next king. The guy has written a psalm song prayer about what he desires life to be like while he is king for every guy, gal and kid or one of the song psalm writer guys wrote a psalm song prayer about what he is hoping that life will be like while he is king for every guy, gal and kid. The guy’s name is Solomon. All the accumulated wealth and power that Solomon’s dad had has been passed on to him. Being king has given Solomon the consummate position of power. Israel’s God has given Solomon the wisdom gift. They – the Israelite people group guys and gals, pray that this day will never end. They pray that how life is today in the land of Israel – the land that God gave to them to always to have to live in as their very own land, will only get better. They pray that their God will bless them at this time. They sing the Psalm 72 psalm song prayer together. Israel’s God is recognized and addressed. They are ready for Solomon to be their king. They pray that their God will gift Solomon with justice. They pray that their God will give Solomon as His royal son His righteousness. They pray that their God will through Solomon judge them with uprightness. They pray that their God will through Solomon give justice to the guys and gals among them who are being harmed. They pray that their God will through Solomon move mountains so that they will become prosperous. They pray that their God will through Solomon have the hills bear fruit for them. They pray that their God will through Solomon care for the needy kids who are among them. They pray that their God through Solomon will crush the bullies who are found among them. They pray that Solomon will endure as their king as long as there is the sun and moon. They pray that Solomon will be their king for all generations. They pray that their God will through Solomon be like a refreshing rain to them –always nourishing them just as rain nourishes a just mowed field. They pray that their God will through Solomon be like timely showers to them – always watering them as timely showers water the earth. They pray that Solomon will flourish while he is king. They pray that Solomon will prosper while he is king. They pray that Solomon will rule the lands and the guys, gals and kids from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth. They pray that desert tribes of guys and gals will bow down to Solomon. They pray that the guys and gals who are their enemies will have to lick the dust off Solomon’s feet. They pray that the Tarshish and Sheba and Seba kings will bring Solomon gifts and tributes. They pray that all the other kings and nations of guys and gals will have to serve Solomon. They pray that Solomon will be the deliverer for the needy guys and gals who are crying out for help and the savior for the afflicted guys and gals who have no one to help them. They pray that Solomon will take pity on the weak guys and gals who are in need of help and save the needy guys and gals who are facing death. They pray that Solomon will be the rescuer of the oppressed guys and gals and the liberator of the guys and gals who are enduring violence. They pray that Solomon will see life as being very precious. They pray that Solomon will live a long life. They pray that gold will be given to Solomon. They pray that guys, gals and kids will pray for Solomon and that every guy, gals and kid around Solomon will be blessed. They pray that Solomon will see the fields of grain in their land abounding, the tops of the hills in their land appearing to sway as winds blow their fields of grain and their land bountifully flourishing. They pray that Solomon’s name will never be forgotten.
Your grandpaa finds it intriguing that three verses were later tacked on to the end of this psalm song prayer. David may have written these verses. These verses may have been taken from another psalm song. The three verses refocus this psalm song prayer to God – Israel’s God, as being the One Who is to be given the credit for everything. The three verses to your grandpaa seem to have been added on to the end of this prayer song to remind the singers and readers of this psalm song prayer that God alone – Israel’s God, is Who does marvelous deeds. Verse 19 says, “Praise be to his glorious name forever: may the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and Amen.”
Who do you think that God’s specially chosen guys and gals – the Israelite people group guys and gals, really thought Solomon was? Solomon’s legacy does not bear out that God – Israel’s God, answered the prayers of His specially chosen guys and gals as they prayed this psalm song prayer for security, tranquility and wealth for their king and for the benefit of themselves. Your grandpaa believes that Solomon really did intend to do what was right to do; your grandpaa also believes that Solomon had a too easy of an access to the easy life which took away his reasons to want to continue to focus on God – Israel’s God. When your grandmaa and grandpaa returned to Bolivia in 1987 to begin their third term with the Bolivia South American Mission field missionary team, your grandmaa and grandpaa thought that they would be spending their next three years in Bolivia implementing an urban church leadership training center which would give guys two years of Bible education and enabled skills on how to be a Christ-follower leader in a Christ-follower fellowship of guys and gals. Your grandpaa was hardly off the airplane when Jon Davids – the Bolivia South American Mission missionary field team Field Director, told him that he had been asked to be the Peru South American Mission field missionary team Field Director and that he hoped that your grandpaa would be asked to replace him in Bolivia – which is what happened. Your grandpaa knows how good that it feels to be asked to be a leader. Your grandpaa also knows how weighty the responsibility is of being a leader.
